ARTIST STATEMENT
“Evolution - the gradual development of something, especially from a simple to a more complex form.”
Thirteen years ago, it was all so simple. I relocated to Brooklyn to “do comedy.” From talk shows, to web series, to improv, to stand up comedy, and everything in between, my art evolved from something to “do” to my therapy. I wrote this show because I was ready and I was done. Done waiting for Hollywood, and ready to share my story, my way. Gathering myself out of the creative funk that I found myself in post pandemic was difficult to say the least. Nonetheless, writing this piece has been one of the most challenging, rewarding, and cathartic experiences of my life. I got to reflect on my life, traumas, fears, joys, observations, and turn them into art. I feel blessed and immensely grateful to do this soul work. I hope this play makes you laugh, think, live a lil more compassionately, and believe in yourself above all else.
